Web Reality Competition

The Challenge:

Your group has been selected to design and construct a website promoting a life saving product.  The program has left it up to our team as to how to best accomplish this task.  However, they do require certain criteria, listed below, that you must meet.  Remember that you want the website to be well organized, visually appealing, and user friendly in order to convince students to get involved with the technology programs

Criteria:

The website should:

• Include information and graphics about your program's activities

• Be well designed and visually appealing

• Be creative

• Meet all of the criteria on the Grading Rubric sheet

• Give reasons why a student should look into taking technology classes

• Have a written statement of why communication technology is important to them and society

Submissions:

Teams must submit:

• Website saved to a flash drive then moved to CD by judges

• Brainstorming sheet

• Storyboard sheet

• Written Rationale sheet

Schedule:

• Introduction - 5 minutes

• Brainstorming - 20 minutes

• Website Production - 70 minutes

• Presentation - 5 minutes

• Group Discussion - 20 minutes

Grading Rubric:

• Appropriate theme and title - 6 points

• Organization - 6 points

• Visual Appealing - 6 points

• Navigation - 6 points

• Graphics - 10 points

• External Links - 10 points

• Internal Links - 10 points

• Text Content enhancing topic - 10 points

• Brainstorming Sheet - 6 points

• Storyboard Sheet - 6 points

• Rationale Sheet - 6 points

• Team Member Participation - 6 points

• Presentation - 6 points

• Total Points = 100
