Activity
A.
Search
internet, view slides, read history pages, and look for examples in books and
postcards of ancient ceramics. You must choose a design prior to Ancient
Greek ceramics. Make a sketch of the pot you most admire, then hand build
a copy in clay. The copy does not need to be an exact copy in the same
scale as the original, but it should be made to closely resemble the
original. Surface decoration that is painted on should be done with slips
or sgraffito. H.1.2,
H.7.1,
H.9.1
Activity
B.
The
second part of the project requires you to make a modern version of the first
pot. You must reinterpret the pot from an ancient culture so that it
becomes contemporary. Think about our own culture - MTV, TV , consumer
society, brand names - form inspiration and influences. Your pot should
have a real or imagined use. H.9.1
