Extensions

Objectives:  Students will learn to make a simple cup and a jug with handle, spout, and lid. H.9.1

Activities: 

1.  Make four cups using the slab method.  Decorate with stamping and changing the form from a cylinder to a more interesting form.

2.  Make a jug form by any hand-building technique you choose.

2.    Make a spout that is pulled, or created and attached.

3.    Make a pulled handles. 

4.   Make a lid with a flange (and, if needed, a gallery on the pot)

5.   Attach all components with scoring and slip.

6.   Decorate pot with the technique of your choice.         

Materials:  Clay, wooden tools, slip, wooden boards, slab roller
