Individualized Projects: Combining form and decoration

Unit Objectives:

 Students will learn to create their own projects; either hand building or throwing on the wheel.

Activities:  

Individualized Project #1: Make at least three pots and let them dry to the leather hard stage.  Try stacking them in different ways to find the best arrangement.  You may need to widen or narrow openings.  Use scoring and slip to weld the pots together.  Use at least two different techniques for decorating. H.8.2

Individualized Project #2: Make a set of mugs, or bowls, or vases - whatever you like - decorate them in a similar way using two or more different techniques. H.8.2

Individualized Project #3: Make a complex form, with extensions, or a variety of attachments. H.8.2
