Unit 2:  Still Life Drawing

This unit helps students 
reviews composition and creating images of forms using line, shape and value.

Unit Objectives: Students will create: 

• two drawings of a paper bag, using two different poses 

• a drawing of a chair, evoking a personality through shading and composition

• a still life arrangement of objects, choosing to draw all or part of the still-life objects

Activity A.  Draw a paper bag in two different poses; one standing upright and looking a little "sassy", and a second with twine bound around it. H.9.1

Activity B.  Draw a chair and create a drawing that has personality.  You may choose the tools. H.9.1

Activity C.   Create a still life arrangement - either one large one, several small ones for the tables, or your own personal arrangement.  Start with gestural line to capture the composition.  Check proportion and angles.  Draw edges.  Shade. Refine edges.  Draw details.    H.9.1
