Back to Tokyo

Parties, wrap-up presentations, sightseeing, shopping

The Fourth of July party

  Singing the Star Spangled Banner

  . . . and eating, eating, eating

. . . preparing for our presentation

Friday morning each group gave a presentation of the week in their prefecture.  Songs, dances, skits, power point, video, and very sincere thanks from all of us to our coordinators, translators, and hosts for a fabulous visit we will never forget.

Goodbye Tokyo

By night and day the streets of Tokyo are crowded with people.

But there is still room for beauty.

The gardens at Hotel New Otani Tokyo are more than 400 years old and cover a surface area of 30,000 square meters.  Once the site of a 16th century home of samurai lord Kiyomasa Kato, the garden, one of Toyko's finest, is right in the middle of high rise buildings.

Buying tickets and using the subway is easy, cheap, and fast.

If you get thirsty during your travels, there are vending machines everywhere, with the widest assortment of drinks you can imagine.

  Shopping in Japan is addictive.

Goods are well designed and beautifully displayed and wrapped.
