How alike are teenagers around the world?  Do they have the same interests, concerns, and dreams for the future?  Do they spend their leisure time in similar ways?  Do they have the same worries and problems?

世界のティーンネイジャーはどんな共通点があるのでしょう？彼らは共通の興味、関心事、将来の夢があるのでしょうか？似たような余暇の過ごし方をするのでしょうか？同じ心配や悩みを持っているのでしょうか？


  

In this photo exchange, students from Kanoya City Kanoya Girls High School in Kanoya City, Kagoshima, Japan and from Brown County High School in Nashville, Indiana, USA share aspects of their lives with each other.

この写真を通しての交流では、日本の鹿児島県鹿屋市立鹿屋女子高等学校とアメリカのインディアナ州ナッシュヴィルにあるブラウンカウンティ高校の生徒たちがお互いに自分たちの生活の側面を紹介しています。

 

Following a three week visit to Japan in 2001, as a Fulbright Memorial Fund participant, American art teacher Deborah Strother asked Japanese English teacher Yasuko Inada to help her create an electronic art exhibit of photographs taken by students from both of the teachers' schools.  Students worked on the project during the summer and fall of 2001.  Japanese students translated American captions.

アメリカの美術教諭デボラ・ストラザーは２００１年にフルブライト基金のプログラム参加者として３週間日本を訪問した後、日本の英語教員である有村操教諭と稲田靖子教諭に両校の生徒が撮影した写真の電子美術展を創る手助けをしてもらうよう依頼しました。生徒たちは２００１年の夏から秋にかけてこの企画を進めました。日本の生徒たちがアメリカの生徒たちの説明文を和訳しました。
