BCHS Accident Simulation

Wednesday, April 29, the Brown County EMT Association set up an accident simulation describing the processes on extracting occupants, as well as possession of alcohol and its effect on driving.  People involved with this educational demonstration were Columbus Regional Hospital medics, Brown County EMT Squad 1, local fire departments, Brown County Sheriff’s Department, and Nashville Police.

As prom night comes around, many things could go wrong by not making right decisions.  This can include drinking and driving and/or the possession of alcohol.   This is what the EMT Association wanted to show the students at BCHS. They set up a head-on collision with a prom couple hitting another car with a mother and her child.  As the simulation continued, procedures were explained to the crowd of curious onlookers.  The simulation was a success and we hope it sent a positive message to the students at BCHS.  The event was video taped by Caleb Wright and will be shown at a later time.
